Matthew 15

Matthew 15.....
Here the religious leaders were holding on to traditions instead of the truth of Gods word.
Verse 8 is from Isaiah 29:13.
This is telling us that people will talk a lot but their hearts tell a different story. Remember God can see our hearts and know when we talk it's from our heart or not.
Verse 11.... It's not what goes in our Mouth that makes us unclean......but what comes out of it. Think of how many times during a day you say things that aren't godly. Maybe a cuss word here and there or gossip about someone......that is what this verse is saying.

Our hearts are dirty and contain evil thoughts. Such thoughts as....
Murder
Adultery
Sexual immorality
Theft
False testimony (lying)
Slander (making false statement about someone)
All these things are a heart issue.....not a clean or unclean issue.

Verse 21-28..... The woman was not a Jew. She knew Jesus had come for the Jews and knew she wasn't included in the healing she could perform. However she had great faith in Jesus and her daughter was healed.

Verse 32.....Jesus had compassion on the people. I love this word. I live that no matter the state of the people or how Jesus felt in the moment, he always had time and compassion on these people. In that compassion for them he fed the crowd so they wouldn't be hungry. He fed 4000 with 7 loaves and a few small fish.
This is telling us today that if we take the small amount we have and give it to God, watch how He uses it. Never doubt the power of our God by giving Him what little we have.

Jesus miracles always brought glory to his father.
